EASA Licence Conversion
How can I convert my ICAO licence to an EASA licence?
The conversion process to convert your ICAO licence differs depending on your experience level.
If you have less than 1500 hours multi-pilot time then you will first need to complete an approved theoretical knowledge training course and then complete the 13 EASA ATPL examinations. Our approved course can be completed remotely without ever having to travel to Ireland. You can login to our live hybrid classroom.
If you have in excess of 1500 hours multi pilot time and have a current multi-crew type rating, you are exempt from attending an approved ATPL theory course at an EASA approved ATO.

- Upon successful completion of our ATPL theory course, we can provide you with the required approved training organisation course completion certificate which is needed in order to sit these examinations. The examinations can be completed under any EASA Authority in any EASA member state or indeed at one of the many EASA exam centres across Europe, the US, and Asia.
- Once you have successfully completed each of the 13 exams, you will then have to completed practical "training as required" and a flight test. Normally this will involved approximately 10 to 15 hours of flight training followed by a combined EASA CPL / Multi & IR flight test. While we do not provide this practical training at ASG, we have a number of training partners who will complete this element of your licence conversion process with you.

- In this case, to assist you with your studies, we can offer you our ATPL revision course (10 days of online classes) at a price of €2000 to help prepare you for the EASA ATPL examinations. This is optional and is not a requirement for you to sit your exams under any EASA authority. Due to your experience, you do not have to completed an approved training course. However, most Pilots choosing to complete their conversion prefer to have the support of classes to assist them with their studies as they complete their 13 ATPL examinations. Regardless of your experience level, there are no exemptions from completing these theoretical examinations.
- Once you have completed the examinations, you will need to complete a Licence Skills Test (LST) on the type that you are current on (e.g. B737, A320 etc). We can arrange this LST for you in any variety of aircraft types.
