EASA Licence Conversion
How can I convert my ICAO licence to an EASA licence?
The conversion process to convert your ICAO licence to an EASA licence varies depending on your experience level and current licence and type ratings. For example, the process differs significantly for those Pilots who hold an ICAO ATPL (A) with a valid type rating plus 1500 hours in a multi-Pilot aircraft as opposed to those who have lower experience levels. With all of the varying sources of information available, it can be challenging to determine exactly what is required. To assist you, we have put together an EASA licence conversion guide which goes through each of the options and likely costs for converting your licence to an EASA licence.
In all conversion cases, the first step towards EASA licence conversion is to successfully complete the EASA ATPL theory exams. While this might seem excessive for those with significant airline experience in other jurisdictions, unfortunately these examinations are mandatory and there are no exemptions from this requirement. Completion of the EASA ATPL examinations is the most time-consuming element for most Pilots and it can be a challenge to get back into studies for those with experience, to work through the significant volume of new and complex material, and to find the time necessary to sit the EASA examinations with an EASA Authority.
The good news is that, with years of experience guiding students throughout the ATPL theory training, ASG is the ideal choice to pass your exams in the most efficient and cost-effective way possible. We have also invested significantly into developing our own online remote learning centre ecosystem which was designed with a focus on providing those undergoing the licence conversion process with the best learning support and training to ensure a seamless ATPL theory journey for you.
