Distance Learning ATPL course
Our distance learning ATPL theory course can be completed in 6 months but averages approximately 9 months. The course involves an online study programme which is managed and overseen by our training team through our online learning centre where you will have access to hundreds of hours of high-quality ATPL theory video tutorials, and hints and tips, and learning content created by ASG instructors to provide you with the learning support that you need when learning by distance learning, and to support you in every step of your ATPL theory journey in a fun and engaging way. You will attend 10 days of "live" revision classes (remotely or in-class according to your preference) throughout your training with us too.
Our online learning centre is accessible across all devices from desktop to mobile. Everything is even downloadable for offline use so that you can review the material at any time, from anywhere. All progress and school ATO “mock” exams required to meet ATO sign-off requirements can be completed remotely from anywhere.

After each module, you will attend your ATPL theory refresher training days prior to your real EASA ATPL examinations. A total of ten live refresher training days are scheduled throughout your course (4 days, 3 days, and 3 days respectively). With our hybrid ATPL classroom concept, you can choose to "sit in" or "login" and even alternate between both by physically attending class on one day and logging in for the class the next day which provides you with flexibility for ATPL training.
You can book your revision classes online, attend our live classroom lectures remotely or physically, and choose to complete your entire ATPL theory course without ever having to travel. We have invested in RØDE broadcast quality microphones and 4K webcams to enhance the remote learning experience.

Conduct of your part-time ATPL theory course
At ASG, our module revision days take place regularly and all of our class dates are published here and you can easily book your place using our online booking system. You can plan the dates for your modules in advance and if the plan changes (depending on your progress) you can easily switch on to a later revision period. All of our training is conducted at Kestrel House in the Dublin Airport Logistics Park right next to Dublin Airport. Daily timings are 12-8pm daily (Dublin time).
In terms of daily timetable, we ask you for feedback on which areas that you are having difficulties with and our instructors tailor the day to the student's needs. If we receive no feedback, the instructor completes an overview of the main subject/theories, focussed subject revision and ATPL question practice.

Why choose ASG?
Since our foundation in 2015, our approach to ATPL training has been characterised by providing students with a bespoke, high quality, and personalised training experience. Our training philosophy is to provide premium quality instruction which will benefit prospective airline pilots throughout their career in aviation, from job interview to operations as an Airline Pilot, and not simply to pass the theoretical knowledge examinations - although we know that's important too!
We limit class sizes to ensure the optimum learning environment, support students throughout their ATPL training journey, and deliver the highest standard of theoretical knowledge instruction. Through our high quality instruction, aside from being more likely to excel at your exams, you are likely to retain this important information, be more prepared to land your first airline job, and operate more effectively throughout your career as an Airline Pilot. Don't just "tick the box". The choice as to where you complete your theoretical knowledge training is an important one, and the determining factor should be quality.
Each one of our ATPL instructors are selected for their practical industry experience and expertise in their theoretical domains. While many ATO's use their day-to-day flight instructors for ATPL instruction, by using subject matter experts (directly from industry) we can focus on providing the highest quality of training. We hire directly from the aviation industry and our instructors include: current airline pilots, type rating instructors, aircraft and avionics technicians, human factors specialists, military pilot instructors, aeronautical engineers, and air traffic controllers. Meet our team and decide for yourself!
At ASG, we have invested significantly into developing our own learning centre ecosystem which was designed with a focus on providing our students with the best possible training, and learning support, to maximise their potential throughout their ATPL theory learning journey with us.

How does the "hybrid" classroom option work?
ASG now offers a "hybrid" classroom concept in order to provide you with the ultimate flexibility when choosing how you would like to attend their ATPL revision classes with us. You can choose to sit-in or log-in for your classes. You can even alternate from day to day, by logging in on one day or physically attending the class on the next.
